ZITAN WOOD CARVED RUYI SCEPTER
清 紫檀如意
Qing Dynasty period.
The ruyi scepter carved from Zitan wood, the ruyi head carved in the
shape of stylized lingzhi, the handle raised up slightly, and bottom slightly
bulged, bottom stringed with decorative filigree, jade, and other semi-
precious gems and tassel. The carving retains the wood grains and colors.

HUANGHUALI WOOD CARVED ‘CHILDREN AND DRAGON’ FIGURE
黃花梨雕龍擺件
The carving depicts a dragon soaring over ocean waves, carrying five
children on the back, holding various auspicious items, symbolizing
incoming fortune. The carving retains natural Huanghuali wood’s grain,
texture, color, and patina.
